The Role of Architects and Urban Planners in Environmental Protection

Մարդը սպառում է բնական ռեսուրսների իրեն բաժին ընկածից ավելին: Սա վերաբերում է նույնիսկ Հայաստանի նման փոքր ևզարգացող երկրին:

Human beings are living beyond their ecological means. This is true for even a small, developing country like Armenia.

Դրան մեծապես նպաստում են մեր քաղաքներն ու շենքերը: Շենքերն օգտագործում են աշխարհի էներգիայի 40%-ը եւ արտադրում դրա 50%-ը ջերմոցային գազերի տեսքով:

Contributing to this problem are the cities and buildings we live in. Buildings use 40% of the world’s energy and emit 50% of its greenhouse gases. The statistics are even more ominous for cities.

Այսպիսով ճարտարապետները, քաղաքաշինարարները և շինարարները նշանակալի դեր և պատասխանատվություն են կրում Գլոբալէկոլոգիական դեգրադացիայի հարցում:

Architects, urban planners, and builders have a significant role (and responsibility) in addressing the global challenge of environmental degradation.

Քաղաքաշինարար Ալեն Ամիրխանյանը կներկայացնի այս հրատափ խնդիրը և ճարտարապետների եւ քաղաքաշինարարների անելիքը:

Alen Amirkhanian, urban planner, will present an overview of this urgent challenge and architects’ and urban planners’ responses to this challenge.

Ներկայացում-զրույցին կհետեևի 30-րոպեանոց տեսաֆիլմ Չինսաստանի “կանաչ” ճարտարապետության մասին: Տեսաֆիլմը պատկանում է e²-ին, որը Միյացյալ Նահանգերի PBS հեռուստաընկերությունով ցուցադրվող ֆիլմերի շարք է: Այստեղ ներկայացվում են էկոլոգիապես կայուն ճարտարապետության հիմնադիրները, նորարարական մտքերն ու դրանց իրականացման հնարավոր եղանակները:

The presentation will be followed by screening of a 30-minute video on green architecture in China. The video is from e2 design, an ongoing PBS series about the pioneers and innovators in the field of sustainable architecture, and how their work is producing solutions to pressing environmental and social challenges.
